Accounts Payable Specialist

Full-Time | $27-$32/hour | 40 hours per week

Ledgent, a Roth Staffing Company, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for one of our clients. This role supports a variety of accounting and payroll functions while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong financial controls.

Overview

The ideal candidate will handle full-cycle accounts payable, assist with payroll processing, and support general accounting activities. This position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process, verify, and code invoices in accordance with internal procedures
  • Perform account and vendor reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate vendor files and documentation
  • Enter AP transactions with a high degree of accuracy (must have a strong 10-key skillset)
  • Assist with month-end close
  • Prepare journal entries related to AP activities (training can be provided for this activity)
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and applicable regulations
  • Provide documentation for audits and internal reviews
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to resolve discrepancies

Requirements

  • 3+ years of full-cycle accounts payable experience with a 3-way match and check runs
  • Strong understanding of debits/credits, journal entries, and general ledger concepts (so some accounting education is ideal - Associates or Bachelors degree preferred in Accounting or a similar major)
  • Experience with accounting and financial software (Sage, NetSuite, Yardi, etc)
  • High accuracy in data entry and 10-key proficiency
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective communication skills across teams
  • Experience withreal estate or construction appreciated
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
